Ayushman Bharat Health Scheme for ASHA, Anganwadi workers

New Delhi:  In yet another step towards improving and expanding health care in the country,  Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman, who presented the Interim Budget here on Feb. 1, said that the Ayushman Bharat Health scheme will be extended to cover ASHA and Anganwadi workers.

Speaking during the Budget presentation, she said that the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri-Jan Arogya Health Scheme is the biggest health scheme in the world.

Noting that the scheme involves a Rs. 5 lakh health coverage for every family, she said that until Dec. 27, 2023, as many as 55 crore people from 12 crore families were covered under the scheme.

Maintaining that the Indian economy is looking brighter since 2014, she said that                      constructive reforms have helped the country meet the challenges.

Stating that importance has been given for betterment of life of every citizen of the country, Nirmala said the Budget has promoted entrepreneurship.

Continuing, she said the PM hopes to make the country fully developed by 2047 when the country celebrates its Independence centenary. She further said that 300 units of free power will be provided to 1 crore homes across the country.
