B.R. Hills Temple to be open for devotees soon

Bengaluru: Muzrai Minister Kota Srinivas Poojari said that the famed Biligiri Rangana Betta (B.R.Hills) Temple in Yelandur taluk of Chamarajangar district will be opened for devotees in a couple of months.

Replying to a question by MLC Sandesh Nagaraj in the Legislative Council on Wednesday, Poojari said that the renovation works of the temple have been going on for four years. 

Pointing out that the State Archaeology Department started the renovation works in April 2017, he said that the works on the temple has been completed at a cost of Rs. 2.4 crore. However, the Tourism Department which has been assigned the task of landscaping  at a cost of Rs.1 crore, is yet to commence work, he said.

Noting that Rs. 4 crore has been sanctioned for the temple’s Rajagopura, Mahadwara and step works, he said that the Chamarajanagar PWD is yet to prepare an estimate for these works. 

Replying to Nagaraj’s another query, Poojari said that doors and electrification works undertaken by private parties out of their own funds, are underway and expected to be completed  soon.
