Bengaluru: Bengaluru Police have arrested a B. Tech graduate, who had quit his Rs. 1 lakh job at a private company and had taken to robbery.
The arrested youth is 25-year-old Richard, a resident of Nehru Nagar at Virajpet in Kodagu, who had graduated from a private college in Bengaluru and was working at a private company with Rs. 1 lakh salary. But to lead a luxurious life, he had quit his job and had taken to robbery, Police said.
Richard, who used to visit jewellery stores in the guise of a customer, divert the attention of the sales person and was stealing gold ornaments. Malleswaram Police, who arrested him, have recovered 134 grams gold worth Rs. 13 lakh from him.
Police said, “Richard used to buy branded items and in order to make easy money to lead a posh life, he had taken to thefts. He used to target jewellery stores sans security staff and steal gold ornaments by diverting the attention of the staff. He has a total of 9 cases registered against him at Kottayam in Kerala and various Police Stations in Bengaluru.”
