Mysore/Mysuru: Dakshina Kannada Doctors’ Cultural Association, Mysuru, had organised Yakshagana performance by noted Yakshagana troupe, Karavali Yakshagana Kendra, Mysuru, on Sunday at Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha, JLB Road in city.
The artistes performed an episode from the great epic, Mahabharata, ‘Babruvahana Kalaga.’ Unique combination of dance, music, dialogue, costume, make-up, and stage techniques enthralled the audience.
Satish Alva as Babruvahana, Ganesh Pujari as emissary, Srinivasa Rao as the Minister and as Hamsadhwaja, Bhargavi as Kataki, Alaka Kattemane as Chitrangada, Sudip Kulal as Arjuna, Akshaya Heggade as Pradyumna and Rashmi as Krishna together with Subraya Hebbar (Bhagavatharu), Ananthanabha Pathak (Maddale) and Amrutadeva Kattinakere (Chande) captivated the audience.
Industrialist Dr. M. Jagannath Shenoi was the chief guest for the event. Dakshina Kannada Doctors Cultural Association President Dr. C. Umesh Kamath of Kamakshi Hospital presided over the event. Association Vice-President Dr. Chandrashekhar Bhat, Dr. M.K. Shivaprakash, Dr. Gangadhara Shetty, Dr. Sanjay Pai, Dr. Prakash K. Prabhu and Dr. U. Ganesh Rao were present.
