Bad printing of power and water bills, it is unreadable

Vani Vilas Water Works

Sir,

It’s widely known that the electricity bills from Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) and the water bills from Vani Vilas Water Works (VVWW) are fragile, with the ink fading in just 2-3 days. These bills, which are crucial for proving a citizen’s residential address, are often required by government agencies like the Passport Office for processing passports.

Since power and water bills need to be retained for longer periods, the authorities should consider implementing the following suggestions:

1. Print bills using long-lasting, higher-quality ink and paper. 2. Provide online bills in PDF format for easy access and retention. 3. Include essential details like Name, Address, Account Number and Balance on payment receipts, so they can serve as both bill and receipt.

I hope the CESC and VVWW authorities will take these consumer-friendly measures into consideration and implement them at the earliest.
