Mysuru: Anahata Harikumar from Mysuru, currently an undergraduate student of International Management Studies at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, Japan, has been awarded The Ando Momofuku Award, the highest honour given to students at the University.
This award was established by a generous endowment given by the late Momofuku Ando, the Founder of Nissin Food Holdings, to encourage students who have outstanding academic records, have displayed high levels of discipline and leadership qualities with insightful personalities, having participated extensively in extracurricular activities and are expected to become future leaders in the Asia Pacific region.
It is the first time that an Indian girl has received this award that includes a Scroll of Merit and a cash prize of JPY 5 lakh, it is learnt.
Anahata, an alumnus of Manasarowar Pushkarini Vidyashrama and MICA PU College, is the daughter of Harikumar, General Manager of Hotel Radisson Blu and Harshida Harikumar, Principal, Manasarowar Pushkarini Vidyashrama, Vijayanagar 2nd Stage, Mysuru.
