Mysuru: Dr. B. Sadashive Gowda, Principal, Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering, who is also Dean Faculty of VTU, was awarded Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan National award for Best Engineering College Principal by Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE).
The award was given for his outstanding contributions in the field of technical education in the country during 52nd ISTE National Annual Convention held at Kalaburgi recently.
The award was given away to Dr. Sadashive Gowda by VTU Vice-Chancellor Dr. S. Vidyashankar at a function in VVCE recently. The objective of the award was to encourage heads of engineering colleges to develop outstanding leadership qualities in institutional development and a commitment to quality and standards in all programmes.
He joined Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering as Professor of Mechanical Engineering in June 2007, and later he became Head of Mechanical Engineering. He was promoted as Vice-Principal in 2008 and Principal in May 2010. He served as an academic senate member of VTU from 2013 to 2016. He is a Fellow of Institution of Engineers, Mysuru Centre, Executive Member of ISHRAE, Mysore Chapter and a Life Member of ISTE.
