Mysuru: Dr. Prashanth Gokare, belonging to the alumni batch of 2008 Bachelor of Engineering in Biotechnology, Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering (SJCE), recently received the coveted Deans Award of Academic Excellence and Scholarly Achievement for his Ph.D. work in Molecular Medicine at Pennsylvania State University, USA.
He is also a recipient of prestigious “Horizon Award” from US Department of Defense, under Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programme of the US Government at Fox Chase Cancer Centre, Philadelphia.
Dr. Prashanth has several research publications, honours and conference awards as young and upcoming scientist.
Currently, he is a post-doctoral researcher at School of Medicine, Yale University, focusing on using the immune system to drive the fight against cancer.
