Mysuru: Federation of Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Ward Parliament, a residents welfare association of city, has bagged the National Swachhata Award for its commendable work in Solid Waste Management.

The award was presented in New Delhi yesterday on the occasion of the third anniversary of Swachh Bharat Mission in the ‘Best Public-Private-Partnership’ category in Solid Waste Management by Union Minister for Urban Development Hardeep Puri, Union Minister for State for Drinking Water and Sanitation S.S. Ahluwalia and Ramesh Jigajinagi to Federation President D.  Madegowda, Vice-President Nagapathi, MCC Health Officer Nagaraj and Karnataka Government Urban Development Department Officer Somesh.

The Federation was honoured in recognition for its work in collecting and segregating dry and wet wastes in Mysuru and converting it to compost.

The MCC has provided all the basic infrastructure facilities in the Plant and pays the salaries of all the employees while the Federation of Wards Parliament looks after other maintenance expenses of the Plant.
