Bangalore Open Wild Card Tennis Tourney: Mysuru’s Manish, Arnav qualify for main draw

Mysuru lad G. Manish, a product of Mysore Tennis Club (MTC) and a student of Sapient PU College, Mysuru, taking part in the Rs.3 lakh, Bengaluru Open Wild Card Tennis Tournament held at KSLTA, entered the main draw in the Men’s Singles event with a good win over second seeded Siddarth K.S. Arya of Tamil Nadu.

, playing only his third men’s tournament, shocked the second seed Siddarth Arya 6-3, 6-1 to enter the main draw in the tournament. In the third round, Manish beat Lanka Suhit Reddy of Telangana 9-3 and in the second round beat Sai Pranav Ponnaka 9-0 to progress further.

Another Mysurean Arnav Pathange, products of the N.P. Raghuveer Tennis Academy, Mysuru, beat Shashank N. Theertha of Telangana 6-4, 1-6, 7-5 and entered the main draw in Men’s Singles.

In the first round of the main draw that began today, another Mysuru lad Suraj R. Prabodh beat Dhakshneshwar Suresh of Tamil Nadu 4-6, 7-6(2), 6-3 and entered the second round.
