Mysuru: Deputy Commissioner (DC) D. Randeep has said that Bar-coded passes will be issued for Dasara procession day in order to prevent illegal entry to programmes.
Speaking at a media co-ordination meeting here yesterday, Randeep said that the District Administration has entered into an understanding with online service provider BookMyShow, for issuance of Bar-coded passes. This system will help eliminate the menace of fake passes, he said.
Pointing out that Accounts and Audit Panels have been constituted to monitor Dasara spending, the DC said that Zilla Panchayat Chief Auditor will maintain all accounts pertaining to Dasara expenditure.
Continuing, the DC said that 15 Dasara elephants have been insured for a total of Rs. 42 lakh and each of the 30 Kavadis is insured for Rs. 1 lakh.
Also, the District Administration has made an insurance coverage of Rs. 22.50 lakh for any loss of public property during Dasara, he said and added that the insurance coverage is made with United India Insurance Company and Oriental Insurance Company.
Stating that the Distinct Administration has sought Rs. 15 crore from the State Government for this year’s Dasara celebration, he said that Dasara invitation cards will be ready in the first week of September.
The DC held an interaction with media representatives on vehicle parking problems, Dasara passes and such other Dasara issues.
The DC gave an assurance that the District Administration will take honest measures to address the issues. The DC further assured that separate seats will be arranged for watching Dasara programmes and also issuance of more passes this time.
