Bengaluru: Three hundred Pourakarmikas of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) have left for Kodagu to render help in relief works.
BBMP Additional Commissioner D. Randeep, speaking to Star of Mysore this morning, said that the first batch of 150 Pourakarmikas left Bengaluru last evening and stayed overnight at Nanjaraja Bahadur Choultry in Mysuru and left for Kodagu early this morning.
He further said that another batch of 150 Pourakarmikas left Bengaluru this morning and would reach Kodagu in the evening. The Pourakarmikas who left by buses are accompanied by three Health Officers and are carrying safety, cleaning and rescue equipment apart from 100 bio toilets.
Meanwhile, the BBMP had opened its flood relief fund and relief materials collection centre at Dr. Rajkumar Glass House on Devanga Hostel Road in Sampangi Ramanagar and the relief materials collected were being transported to Kodagu.
