Mysore/Mysuru: Prof. Lingaraja Gandhi, Vice-Chancellor, Bengaluru City University (BCU), formerly Bengaluru Central University, has been invited by Wolverhampton University, UK, as a Visiting Research Scholar. He will be there at the UK University for a period of one week from July 15. He will share his expertise and knowledge to the ongoing Research Project, “Sustainable SMART Cities Coping with Crisis, Lessons from a Global Pandemic”.
Prof. Lingaraja Gandhi hails from Mysuru and before his appointment as BCU VC, he had served as the Registrar of University of Mysore (UoM) and Karnataka State Open University (KSOU). He also served the Department of Post-Graduate Studies and Research in English at UoM and was the Director, Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Board.
During his stay at Wolverhampton University, Prof. Lingaraja Gandhi will also explore the possibilities of academic and research collaborations between Wolverhampton University and BCU.
Since he has been invited as a Visiting Research Scholar, his entire travel expenditure including airfare and local hospitality are met under the Visiting Research Scholar funds of Wolverhampton University.
This visit will also help in preparing a blueprint of the PG Department of Urban Studies and Planning planned to start in the Bengaluru City University. Such visits will enable the University to build a brand name in the international field of Higher Education.
