Mysuru: Mandi Police have arrested a man in Bengaluru for allegedly threatening former Corporator of Mysuru Suhail Baig and uploading derogatory videos against him on the social media platforms.
The arrested man is Mohammed Hassan Razak, a supporter of Syed Mujahid, an associate of Mansoor Ahmed, who is the prime accused in the multi-crore IMA scam.
Suhail Baig, speaking to SOM said that following IMA scam and victims of the scam in Mysuru lodging complaints at various Police Stations in city, he (Suhail) had given statements to a TV channel seeking justice to investors.
He further said that after the news was telecast, Suhail received videos on his WhatsApp number, in which Hassan Razak has abused Suhail and his family members besides threatening him, following which he lodged a complaint at Mandi Police Station.
Based on the complaint, Mandi Police, who registered a case, left for Bengaluru and arrested Hassan Razak. He (Hassan) was brought to Mandi Police Station yesterday and was interrogated. Hassan was later released on Station Bail, said Mandi Inspector Arun Kumar.
Meanwhile, Suhail Baig and his supporters, who came to the Police Station after the accused was brought there, lauded Mandi Police for taking action swiftly and urged the Police to take action against Syed Mujahid.
