Bengaluru Open Challenger Men’s Tennis: Prajwal Dev, Niki Poonacha duo go down in quarters

Mysuru lad S.D. Prajwal Dev teaming up with Niki Poonacha and taking part in the men’s doubles event in 1,50,000$  Bengaluru Open Challenger men’s tennis tournament being held at KSLTA Courts, Bengaluru, on Wednesday, went down in quarter-finals.

Arjun Khade and Saketh Myneni combined well to beat Prajwal Dev and Nikki Poonacha 6-3, 7-6 (5) and sailed into the  semi-finals in the tournament in the men’s doubles event.

In the men’s singles event, India’s Sasi Kumar Mukund beat second seeded Slovakian Blaz Kavcic 7-6(2), 3-1 (retd), while Saketh Myneni got the better of Egypt’s Yossef Hossam 6-1, 3-6, 6-1. Sumit Nangal beat fourth seeded Britain’s James Ward 6-3, 7-6 (4) and entered the quarter-finals. G. Prajnesh beat German’s Sebastian Fanselow 4-6, 6-4, 7-5 to enter the last four stage of the tourney.
