Mysuru: Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji of city’s Sri Avadhoota Datta Peetham offered a special puja by reciting Bhagavad Gita at Sri Ganapathy Ashram in city on Sunday for the welfare of our soldiers.
Sri Swamiji participated in the Bhagavad Gita Parayana at a function organised by International Gita Foundation at Ashram’s Nada Mantapa on Mysuru-Nanjangud Road. Later, he presented medals and certificates to those who successfully completed Bhagavad Gita Examination with distinction.
Speaking on the occasion, Sri Ganapathy Swamiji said “at present our soldiers are facing numerous challenges while protecting our borders as there is tension at our borders following the strained relation between India and Pakistan. Our soldiers are doing an excellent job in protecting our citizens and thwarting attacks from the enemy country. The citizens are living peacefully because of the sacrifices of our soldiers. That is why, I have prayed Lord Krishna to take care of the welfare of our soldiers and give salvation to those who were killed by terrorists at Pahalgam.”
Observing that people from all age groups right from children to senior citizens had participated in the Bhagavad Gita Examination, the Swamiji said that it is good to see that 5,000 persons can recite Gita by heart without referring anything. “It is heartening to know that two kids have passed the Gita exam with distinction,” concluded Sri Swamiji.
Poorvanch Datta and Sisla Srihita, who are both six years old and 79-year-old Bhramarambha and Sujata received medals and certificates from Sri Swamiji.
