Mysore/Mysuru: As part of Gita Jayanti, Mysuru-based Divyadwani Sampada has organised 26th Bhagavad Gita recitation competition for students on Dec. 11 at 10 am at Divyadwani Sampada, Kashyapa, MIG 21 (OYHS), Hebbal 1st Stage, Lakshmikantha Nagar, Mysuru.
The competition will be conducted in Nursery, Primary, Higher Primary, High School and College categories.
The students participating in nursery category will have to recite shlokas 23 to 27 from the second chapter; shlokas 1 to 7 from fifth chapter for Primary students; shlokas 1 to 8 from chapter eight for Higher Primary students; shlokas 19 to 28 from chapter 10 (with meaning for any one verse) for High School students and shlokas 14 to 24 from chapter 17 (participants will have to tell the meaning of any one shloka asked by the judges) for College students.
Two participants will be allowed to take part in each category and prizes will be given to winners of first three places.
On the occasion, Dr. T.V. Venkatachala Shastri will be felicitated for his works in various fields including Kannada literature, research, critics, writing, etc.
