Mysuru: Bharata Kannada Parishat, to mark its inauguration, had organised a function at Rajendra Bhavan in JSS Hospital premises here yesterday.
Inaugurating the programme, writer Dr. Doddarangegowda said that the scope of literature was infinite and commended the formation of the Parishat to promote Kannada literature and uphold the status of Kannada. He confidently claimed that any amount of globalisation cannot stop development of the country and Kannada language.
However, he opined that human values should not be allowed to go down despite any amount of commercialisation.
Later, writer Prof. C.P. Krishnakumar launched the logo of the Parishat and also released the books ‘Saugandhika’ and ‘Chengulabi,’ authored by Parishat Hon. President Champa Shivanna. Senior patron of the Parishat A. Hemaganga presided. Former KSOU VC N.S. Ramegowda was the chief guest.
Littérateur Dr. K. Leela Prakash and others were present. The event also featured a Kavigoshti and felicitation to social activists.
