Mysuru: Bharatanatya Rangapravesha of B.R. Sripriya, disciple of Vidu. Kripa Phadke, has been organised at Jaganmohan Palace in city tomorrow (Oct. 7) at 6 pm, under the aegis of Nrityagiri Academy of Performing Arts & Research Centre, Mysuru.
Noopura Nrityanjali (Nanjangud) Director Vidu. Usha Venugopal will be the guest of honour. Renowned theatre artiste Prof. H.S. Umesh and Ganabharathi President Dr. C.G. Narasimhan will be the chief guests.
She will be accompanied by Guru Vidu. Kripa Phadke on Natuvanga, Vidu. Rajeshwari Pandit on vocal, Vid. H.L. Shivashankarswamy on mridanga, Vid. Rakesh Sudhir on flute and Vid. Dasappa on morching.
Profile:B.R. Sripriya is the daughter of retd. Court employee Vedavalli and theatre artiste & retd. BEML employee B.G. Ramji, hailing from the cultural land of Mysuru.
She received initial training in Bharatanatya at Ganabharathi Sangeetha Nritya Shale under the guidance of Vidu. Roopashree Madhusudan. She then continued her dance career with profound study and practice of the art form under the able tutelage of Bharatanatya exponent Dr. Kripa Phadke.
She has completed the pre-proficiency exam conducted by KSEEB with flying colours and is presently preparing for the final proficiency exam. She has actively taken part in many presentations of Nrityagiri such as Vande mataram, Navadurga Vaibhava, Mahishasuramardini and the like in prestigious platforms such as Mysuru Dasara, Yuva Dasara, Vishva Kannada Sammelana and Nrityagiri Nrityasaptaha. She also excels in folk dance forms of Karnataka such as Dollu Kunita and Kamsale.
Sripriya has shown excellence in academics too. She completed her engineering from SJCE, Mysuru, and is presently working as a senior analyst in Dell EMC at Bengaluru.
