Mysore/Mysuru: Ganabharathi has organised a Bharatanatyam programme at Ganabharathi on Jan. 7 by Vid. Pavan Kumar between 6 pm and 7 pm and by Vidu. Premita Govind between 7 pm and 8 pm.
Accompanying artistes for the programme of Vidu. Premita Govind are Vid. Nandakumar Unnikrishnan – vocal, Vid. H.S. Shivashankar Swamy – mridanga, Vid. Rakesh Sudhir – flute and Guru Dr. Vasundhara Doraswamy on nattuvanga.
A native of Gauribidanur taluk, Vid. R. Pavan Kumar is the son of Nagaratna Chakrapani and Ramesh Chakrapani. He is the disciple of Guru Natyacharya Vid. R. Kannan, Mysuru.
Vid. Pavan Kumar, has secured a gold medal in BA (Bharatanatyam Dance) from Karnataka State Gangubai Hangal Music and Performing Arts University, has completed MA in Bharatanatyam at Fine Arts College, University of Mysore.
Vidu. Premita Govind, a native of Mysuru, is the daughter of Savitha and Ramesh Kannan and is now married to Govind Menokee from Calicut. Premita took up Bharatanatyam at the tender age of four and has been since then under the tutelage of Guru Dr. Vasundhara
Doraswamy, Mysuru. Premita has completed her Industrial Engineering from National Institute of Engineering (NIE), Mysuru and is currently working at Kaynes Technology India Pvt. Ltd., which is also her family run business. She also runs an academy in Mysuru named ‘Kalandika’ to train all art enthusiasts.
