Mysore/Mysuru: Nadavidyalaya – Academy of Music and Dance, Hebbal, Mysuru, has organised Bharatanatyam Rangapravesha of R. Lakshya, disciple of Vidu. Mithra Naveen, at Jaganmohan Palace in city on July 5 at 5.30 pm.
Lieutenant Colonel R.H. Sandeep, Administrative Officer, 14 Karnataka Battalion NCC, Mysuru, Dr. K.S. Ravindranath, Director of Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research, K.G. Mahesh, Director (Chief Engineer), Karnataka Engineering Research Station – KRS and Dr. Sahana Bhat, Internationally acclaimed dancer, Director of Natyanjali Nruthyakala Kendra, Hubballi, will be the guests of honour.
Guru Vidu. Mithra Naveen will be felicitated during Guru Vandana programme. Direction, Choreography and Natuvanga will be by Guru Vidu. Mithra Naveen. Vid. Naveen M.S. Andagar on vocal, Vid. Mahesh Swamy, Bengaluru, on flute, Vid. G.S. Nagaraj, Bengaluru, on mridanga will accompany Lakshya for her maiden solo dance performance. Dr. Bhuvaneshwari, Mysuru, will be the Master Compere.
Profile: Daughter of C. Ganga and C. Rupender, Lakshya’s journey in the classical arts has been profoundly shaped by Guru Vidu. Mithra Naveen in Pandanallur style of Bharatanatyam and by Guru Vid. M.S. Naveen into the realm of Karnatak classical music.
Lakshya has successfully completed her Junior Karnatak Classical Vocal Examination conducted by KSEEB in 2020 and Senior Bharatanatyam Examination conducted by KSGH Music and Performing Arts University in Mysuru in 2024.
She is presently pursuing her Vidwat Poorva, further advancing her training in Bharatanatyam under the guidance of her Guru. She is currently studying in 2nd PUC in Science stream in Wisdom PU College, Mysuru. In 2022, she earned the opportunity to participate in the Harvard Model United Nations India, where she represented Italy in the United Nations Human Rights Council [UNHRC].
She is a proud NCC Cadet who has been a part of the 14 Karnataka Battalion NCC, Mysuru and has successfully completed her ‘A’ certificate Examination under the authority of Ministry of Defence, Government of India.
She has won two silver medals and one bronze medal in CISCE National Sports and Games (2022 and 2023) in swimming. She has been awarded with Pratibha Puraskar by the Government of Karnataka for her outstanding results in the 10th ICSE examination in 2024.
She has delivered compelling performances across various esteemed platforms in and around Mysuru, under her home institution, Nadavidyalaya.
With expressive finesse, she has also beautifully portrayed a few characters like Goddess Sita, Lord Vamana and Rati Devi.
