Bharatanatyam recitals at Ganabharathi tomorrow

Mysore/Mysuru: Naatya Sabha, Mysuru, has organised a programme of Bharatanatyam recitals on Aug. 3 at Rama Govind Kalavedike, Ganabharathi, Kuvempunagar at 5.30 pm. Amrutha Bhat from Bengaluru and Avani Shandilya from New York, USA, will present solo performances.

Amrutha Bhat is a multifaceted and talented artiste bestowed with the graceful artforms of Dance and Music. Being a student of Nrityagiri, Mysuru,  Amrutha is imbibed with techniques of traditional Bharatanatyam in Pandanallur style from Guru Dr. Kripa Phadke. She holds Master’s Degree in Bharatanatyam from Fine Arts College, University of Mysore.

Amrutha is a recipient of CCRT scholarship and also a scholarship awarded by Karnataka Sangeetha Nritya Academy, Government of Karnataka. She has successfully accomplished Vidwath in Bharatanatyam from KSEEB and is ably guided by Guru Vidu. Girijamma in Karnatak classical music.

Avani Shandilya is a 12- year-old talented Bharatanatyam dancer from New York. She has blossomed into a solo artiste under the tutelage of her Gurus Dr. Sanjay Shantaram of Bengaluru and Lakshmi Priya Raja of Chennai. She is learning Karnatak music from her Gurus Ranjini Venimadhavan and Sampath Venimadhavan.

An avid and accomplished flutist, she has been blessed with opportunities to perform in many countries including USA, Canada, Greece and India. She debuted her first solo Margam in Sri Parthasarathy Sabha, Chennai, in 2022 at the age of 11.

One of the youngest Indian Raga Fellow, she has presented solo programmes in many prestigious venues like Athens Dance Festival, The Cleveland Thyagaraja Festival, Marghazhi in San Francisco, World Culture Festival, Washington DC, Balance Art Centre New York, Seva Sadan, Bengaluru, Bramha Gana Sabha, Chennai, Melapattur Auditorium, Guruvayurappan Temple, Kerala, Jaganmohan Palace, Mysuru and many more.
