Bengaluru: Senior IPS Officer Bhaskar Rao took charge as the new Bengaluru City Police Commissioner yesterday, replacing Alok Kumar who held the post for just 45 days.
In a surprise development, the State Government yesterday removed Alok Kumar and hours later, Bhaskar Rao assumed office.
Bhaskar Rao, a 1990 batch IPS Officer, was the ADGP (KSRP). Meanwhile, Alok Kumar is likely to move the CAT (Central Administrative Tribunal) against his abrupt transfer.
