Mysuru: Vijayanagar Police, on Feb.3, have arrested a person near Surya Bakery in Hebbal on charges of stealing bicycles and have recovered 19 bicycles of various companies worth about Rs.2 lakh from him. The arrested is 30-year-old Venkatesh, a native of Hassan district who is staying at an old house near Surya Bakery in Hebbal here.
During interrogation, the accused is said to have confessed of stealing bicycles parked inside and out of the compound of houses in Vijayanagar and surrounding areas since six months. Based on the information provided by the accused, the Police have recovered 19 bicycles stolen by him.
The accused already has a case registered at Vijayanagar Police Station.
DCP Dr. Vikram V. Amathe and N.R. Sub-Division ACP supervised Vijayanagar Inspector B.G. Kumar, ASI Venkatesh Gowda and staff in the nabbing and recovery operation, according to a press release from the Public Relations Officer (PRO), City Police Commissioner’s Office, Mysuru.
