Napoklu – The hockey buffs in Kodagu will witness the Rest of India (RoI) led by V. Raghunath taking on Karnataka and Coorg Regiment teams in an exhibition match to mark the inauguration of Biddatanda Hockey Namme – 2017 at Napoklu on Monday.
The exhibition match will be played at one of the newly prepared grounds at Napoklu. This year a record 306 teams have registered for the tournament. The Biddatanda Hockey Namme will be inaugurated by Olympian and Arjuna Awardee Dr. Anjaparavanda B. Subbaiah on Apr. 17 (Monday) at 10.30 am at General Thimmayya Stadium, Government High School premises, Napoklu. Kodava Hockey Academy Founder President Pandanda M. Kuttappa will be the guest. Biddatanda Hockey Namme Hon. President and Family Pattedar Prof. Biddatanda C. Ponnappa will preside.
Ministers Kagodu Thimmappa and Ramanath Rai, former Minister Meriyanda C. Nanaiah, MP Prathap Simha, MLAs K.G. Bopaiah, Mandepanda P. Appachu Ranjan and MLCs Shantheyanda Veena Achaiah and Mandepanda Sunil Subramani, SP Rajendra Prasad, Hockey Coorg President Paikera Kalaiah and Keshava Prasad Muliya of Muliya Foundation will be the chief guests.
