Mysore/Mysuru: Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement (SVYM) and Rotary Mysore have jointly organised a ‘Bike-a-thon’ to create awareness on road safety among the people in city.
Addressing a press meet at Patrakarthara Bhavan here yesterday, Swami Vivekanada Youth Movement Mysuru unit head Rekha said that the ‘Bike-a-thon’ will be held on Nov. 18 in which two teams from Mysuru and Bengaluru will participate.
Continuing, she said that the students of St. Joseph’s Nursing College will stage a street play in front of Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple at 7 am following which the ‘Bike-a-thon’ will be flagged off at 7.30 am. It will reach Sanjay Circle in Mandya at 8.30 am where an awareness speech and display of messages will be held and will leave towards Chitradurga at 9 am.
In Bengaluru, the ‘Bike-a-thon’ will be flagged off at 6.30 am on Nov. 18, which will reach Tumakuru at 10.15 am. Awareness through street play will be held at 1.30 pm.
On Nov. 19, the Mysuru and Bengaluru teams will reach Hosapete where a street play to create awareness on road safety will be staged.
