Mysuru: Bike-borne miscreants have snatched a chain along with gold pendants from a woman in the early hours of today at Nazarbad in city.
The woman, who lost her chain and gold pendants, is 45-year-old Papamma, a resident of Kamatageri near Marugadevi Temple in Nazarbad.
Papamma was collecting water from a tap in front of her house, when two persons on a bike stopped at a distance. While one was seated on the bike with the engine still on, the other approached her with a bottle to collect water.
When Papamma stepped aside to allow the youth to collect the water, he immediately closed her mouth, yanked off her chain, jumped on the waiting bike and sped from the spot.
It is learnt that the miscreants had yanked off the gold-plated silver chain which had the mangalya and Lakshmi pendants made of gold and weighing about 15 grams.
Nazarbad Police have registered a case in this regard.
