Two bikes worth Rs. 1.5 lakh recovered

Mysuru: Metagalli Police, on June 28, have arrested a person on charges lifting two-wheelers and have recovered two bikes worth about Rs. 1.5 lakh from him.

The arrested person has been identified as Stanley, a native of Mullusoge village, Somwarpet taluk in Kodagu district.

Metagalli Police, who were on their regular beat, found Stanley standing near Basavanagudi Circle along with a KTM bike without registration plate and took him into custody.

During interrogation, the accused is said to have confessed of lifting the bike near a hostel in Kuvempunagar Police limits and on further interrogation, the accused also told the Police that he had also lifted a Bajaj Pulsar bike near JSS Hospital in Agrahara.

Based on the information provided by the accused, the Police have recovered both the bikes from him.

It is learnt that the accused has two-wheeler theft cases in Vijayanagar, Jayalakshmipuram and Saraswathipuram Police Stations and was out on bail.

Metagalli Inspector H.T. Sunil Kumar, SI Vishwanath, ASI Ponnappa and staff Sundar, Mallikarjunappa, Lingarajappa, Sukesh, Shivakumar, Harish, Krishna and Asha took part in the nabbing and recovery operation.
