Mysuru: Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep launched a bio-gas unit at the DC’s residence on Hunsur Road here on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that bio-gas was natural and cheaper than Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and added that the unit, costing Rs.25,000 to Rs.35,000, can operate using domestic waste.
He further said that Shyamsundar, Assistant Professor NIE, had suggested him about the bio-gas unit. He added that certain doubts over the Bio-gas Plant were got cleared before installation was approved.
He further said that citizens, instead of handing over domestic waste to the MCC as waste material, could utilise them to generate bio-gas and thus help to keep the city and environment clean.
