Mysuru: The first-ever bird census to be conducted by Forest Department at Ranganathittu Sanctuary, which was to be held on Mar.4, will now be held on Mar.11 at 6 am. The census was postponed due to the untimely demise of Conservator of Forest S. Manikandan on Mar.3 at Nagarahole when a wild elephant trampled him to death. Bird Watcher Group and other ornithologists numbering more than 50 will participate in the census.
As a prelude to the census, a workshop will be held on Mar.10 at 3.30 pm at Aranya Bhavan auditorium in city. For details call Mob: 94109-56294.
