Bishop inaugurates computer skill training at Nanjangud Sub-Jail

Mysore/Mysuru: The Prison Ministry India, Mysore Diocese, had organised a computer skill training programme at Nanjangud Sub-Jail on Jan. 7. The programme was co-ordinated by Sr. Mable D’Silva, Nanjangud Unit and Nagaraj Rao, Superintendent, Taluk Jail, Nanjangud.

 Most Rev. Dr. Francis Serrao SJ, Bishop of Mysuru, along with Joshy Basil, General Manager – HR & Administration, Rishi FIBC Solutions Pvt. Ltd., inaugurated the programme and appreciated the initiative aimed at providing jail inmates with hope, skills and a better future.

The project is sponsored by Rishi FIBC Solutions Private Limited, Tandavapura, Mysuru.

Joshy Basil also assured employment opportunities for the trained inmates through Rishi and other supporting companies.

Certificates will be issued upon successful completion of the course under Spandana Women and Children Development Society, run by the Sisters of St. Charles Borromeo, Karunalaya, Nanjangud.

Michael, PMI State Coordinator and Fr. Anthappa,  and other dignitaries were present on the occasion. All the speakers appreciated the initiative and highlighted its importance in empowering prisoners towards self-reliance and rehabilitation.

This computer skill training offers inmates a meaningful opportunity to rebuild their lives with confidence and dignity. By learning new skills, they are preparing themselves for employment and self-reliance after release.
