BJP Chief holds meeting with RSS leaders

Bengaluru: BJP National President Amit Shah, who is on a 3-day visit to the State to lift the spirit of the party workers ahead of the 2018 Assembly polls, held a breakfast meeting with RSS leaders at the State RSS Headquarters in Chamarajpet this morning.

Shah is said to have interacted and taken feedback from RSS functionaries on political scenario in the State selection of candidates for the 2018 Assembly polls and the affairs of the State unit of the party, in the meeting that lasted over two hours.

The meeting assumes much significance in the wake of reports that several RSS functionaries are not happy with the style of functioning of State unit President B.S. Yeddyurappa and also BJP National General Secretary in-charge of Karnataka P. Muralidhar Rao, for not making much of an impact or ushering in discipline in the party. As many as 25 RSS functionaries and Sangha leaders attended the meeting, it is learnt.

Shah thereafter took part in an interaction with select section of the media at a private hotel later in the afternoon, it is learnt.

Shah is expected to wind up his three-day tour later this evening, after attending a few other scheduled party programme, according to sources.
