Mysore/Mysuru: Co-operation and District in-Charge Minister S.T. Somashekar flagged off two ambulances meant for providing free services to COVID-19 patients on behalf of BJP City Doctor’s Cell yesterday at a function organised at BJP Office in Chamarajapuram.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said the District Administration was making all efforts to contain the spread of pandemic. People’s co-operation was also required in this regard. All the elected representatives of the district will be taken into confidence to provide quality treatment to Covid patients, he said.
Somashekar said prima facie, the District Administration of Mysuru had no role in distribution of oxygen to neighbouring Chamarajanagar District. However, the State Government has instituted an inquiry into the death of 24 patients allegedly due to lack of oxygen early this week. Truth will come out in inquiry, he added.
Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha, Chamaraja MLA L. Nagendra, MUDA Chairman H.V. Rajeev, Mysuru Vibhag Pracharak M.V. Ravishankar, State Party Spokesperson M.G. Mahesh, District BJP President Mangala Somashekar, General Secretary Somasundar, Doctor’s Cell Co-Convener S.A.Girish and others were present.
