Mysuru: Strongly condemning Congress MLC Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah’s recent remarks questioning the credibility of the Indian judiciary and investigation agencies, the BJP has demanded the expulsion of Dr. Yathindra from the Legislative Council.
Addressing a press meet here on Saturday, BJP Legal Cell City Convenor Shivakumar said that Dr. Yathindra, while speaking at programmes held at H.D. Kote and T. Narasipur recently, had accused Central agencies such as IT, ED and CBI of acting under the behest of the Centre, targeting only the Opposition leaders.
He pointed out that Dr. Yathindra had also alleged that the Central agencies were working towards proving falsehood as real facts and even the Courts, in most of the cases seemed to have accepted the wrongful findings of these agencies.
“Yathindra’s statements are unconstitutional and amount to contempt of Court. As such, legal action must be initiated against the MLC and also his membership of the State Legislative Council must be terminated,” Shivakumar said adding that it was not correct on the part of Yathindra to tell lies and question the credibility of the judicial system and Central agencies.
BJP Legal Cell office-bearers G. Nanjundaswamy and H.K. Bhagya, Advocates Sharath and B.N. Gangadharappa were present at the press meet.
