BJP stages protest, demands resignation of Minister Puttarangashetty

Mysuru:  Accusing Backward Classes Welfare Minister C. Puttarangashetty of indulging in corruption, after a staff of his office was caught red-handed by the Police while carrying Rs.25.76 lakh near Vidhana Soudha West Gate recently, over a hundred BJP workers led by MLA L. Nagendra staged a demonstration at Gandhi Square this morning seeking immediate resignation of the Minister.

Alleging that Puttarangashetty indulged in corruption, the protesters urged the Chief Minister to sack the Minister from the cabinet of he does not quit on his own.

Lashing out at the State Government for hiking State cess on fuel prices, the BJP workers charged the State Government of unnecessarily burdening the common man by hiking cess at a time when fuel prices are coming down.

They urged the State Government to withdraw the hiked cess on fuel prices.

Former MLC Thontadarya, party leader Jayaprakash (JP) and several Corporators took part.

In another protest over the same issues, BJP workers of N.R. Assembly constituency staged a demonstration at FTS Circle on Mysuru-Bengaluru road.

City BJP President Dr. B.H. Manjunath, former KEA Chairman B.P. Manjunath, leaders Sandesh Swamy, Anand, S. Murali, Giridhar and others were present.

In yet another protest, BJP workers of K.R. Assembly segment staged a demonstration at Agrahara Circle.

MLA S.A. Ramdas, corporators B.V. Manjunath, Sunanda Palanetra and Geetha Yoganand, leaders Vidya Urs, Ramesh and others took part.
