BJP State Executive meeting begins

Bengaluru: The day-long BJP State Executive Committee meeting began at the sprawling Palace Grounds here this morning.

Preparation for the Assembly polls, review of ‘Vistarak’ (outreach) programme, the recent I-T raids on Energy Minister D.K. Shivakumar, Congress Government reviving the State Flag issue and also supporting a separate religion tag for Lingayat-Veerashaiva dharma and attacks on RSS and BJP functionaries across the State, were the focal points of the meeting.

The meeting will also assess the political situation in the State and as well as the State Government’s reported plans to re-open cases against BJP leaders by misusing the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).

The meeting will also serve as a platform to prepare for the party’s National President Amit Shah’s three-day visit to the State beginning Aug.12.

State BJP President B.S. Yeddyurappa, Opposition leader Jagadish Shettar, leaders K.S. Eshwarappa, R. Ashok, Aravind Limbavali, BJP National General Secretary in-charge of Karnataka P. Muralidhar Rao, Union Ministers Ananth Kumar and D.V. Sadananda Gowda and a host of other top leaders and hundreds of delegates from across the State are attending the meeting.

As a prelude to today’s meeting, a BJP State office-bearers meeting was held at the same venue yesterday during which State BJP President B.S. Yeddyurappa called upon the party workers to work hard for bringing the party to power in the 2018 Assembly polls.
