IM Ravi Hegde of Bengaluru with 6.5 points from seven rounds clinched the title in the Open Section in the Blitzkrieg 1st State-level Open Chess Tournament conducted by Knight Riders Chess Club of VVCE at the College premises here on Sunday. Ananya Suresh of Mysuru with 6 points finished second while A. Augustin of Kushalnagar secured third place with 5.5 points.
The winner took home a cash prize of Rs.7,000 and a trophy while the runner-up and third place winners secured Rs.5,000 & Rs.3,000 with trophies. The top 15 players in the Open Section were given cash prizes.
