Sir,
This is with reference to my letter dated 14th February 2017 “Bogadi road badly in need of a divider.” I am a regular commuter on Bogadi road and surprisingly via Kukkarahalli Kere to University signal light stretch, there is no divider. As a result, vehicles coming from the opposite direction move at a rattling speed, dangerously towards right. This in turn may lead to fatal accidents.
Also a stretch of this road is in poor condition with lots of pits and potholes. I don’t know what the authorities concerned are doing. Are they sleeping over this serious matter?
Nowadays even I don’t find the interceptor being stationed at this junction to control the traffic movement. Of course, most of the time the Traffic Police are busy near the signal light collecting fines from scooterists.
In order to avert these accidents, it is high time the Traffic Police department provides a divider on the stretch between Kukkarahalli Lake Circle and University signal light at the earliest and also station the interceptor at least from 9 am to 9 pm on all working days to penalise the traffic offenders.
I also request the authorities concerned to extend this divider throughout Bogadi road up to Ring Road, of course, with a way (gap) leading to the main entrance of Mysore University (where Kuvempu’s statue is erected) for easy movement of University staff and students during working hours. This in turn would definitely ease traffic congestion and avoid serious accidents.
