Book ‘Mahisha Mandala Madhyadolage’ released

Mysuru:  Rangavahini and Ganasuma Musical Group had organised a function at Maneyangala in Kalamandira premises here yesterday morning for the release of the book ‘Mahisha Mandala Madhyadolage,’ a collection of poems written by Ganasuma Pattasomanahalli.

Releasing the book, Journalist Dinesh Amin Mattu contended that history and mythology were different basically and added that devotion sometimes  obscures facts.

Referring to political scenario,  Dinesh opined that too much publicity on hyped fictitious achievements without proofs and authentication was becoming a passion of politicians.

Dinesh observed that even mythological characters of epics were not without any short-coming and questioned the rationale behind people worshipping those characters as Gods when their short-comings were clearly spelled out in the epics. He regretted that mythological characters are being viewed in political garb by politicians misleading the society.

Switching to literature, Dinesh said that people consider the works of writer Dr. S.L. Bhyrappa as pure literature. He contended that milk is pure but doctors feel that milk is not good for health especially if people are lactose-intolerant. The same doctors claim that curd obtained by adding an acid to milk is very good for health, explained Dinesh sarcastically adding that curdled literature was good enough for him.

Research Scholar Chikkarangegowda spoke on the book. Journalist Dr. Krishnamurthy, Researcher Vijaya Mahesh, Folk Singer C.M. Narasimha Murthy, author of the book Ganasuma Pattasomanahalli and others were present.
