Borrowing of books temporarily stopped at City Central Library

The Deputy Director of Mysuru City Central Library has stated in a press release that as the digitalisation and maintenance works are taken up at the Main Branch of City Central Library, the public cannot borrow books from the library between Dec. 12 and 18. However, they may return the borrowed books as usual. The newspapers and periodicals section is open to public, the press release added.

Book Expo at Bengaluru:The Department of Public Libraries will be organising a three-day expo of books at ‘Granthangana,’ City Central Library, West Zone, Hampinagar, Bengaluru, from Dec. 13 to 15.

Books first published in 2019, selected or unselected by the State-level Book Selection Committee under Single Window System and books first published in 2021 and either selected or unselected by the State-level Book Selection Committee, will be displayedat the expo. Objections, if any, from authors, publishers, distributors and book sellers, who had sent entries to State-level Book Selection Committee, can be filed in writing at Office of the Director, Department of Public Libraries, 4th Floor, Vivesvaraya Towers, AmbedkarVeedhi, Bengaluru, before Dec. 17.
