Mysuru: Observing that peace, sanctity and tolerance are vital for a healthy society, chief of Brahma Kumaris, Mount Abu, Rajyogini Dadi Jankiji, has stressed on the need for everyone to imbibe these values.
She was speaking after inaugurating a day-long programme for Seers titled ‘Karnataka Santa Samagama’, organised by Prajapita Brahma Kumari Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya, Mysuru South Zone in association with Suttur Mutt at Gyan Sarovar in Lingadevarakoppal, Hunsur Road, on the outskirts of the city this morning. The event, having the subject “Attaining superlative culture through the power of God” also marked the 82nd anniversary of Brahma Kumaris and 102nd birthday of Jankiji.
Addressing the gathering, Dadi Jankiji said she joined Brahma Kumaris as a young woman and as years passed by, she learnt that peace was of utmost importance in everyone’s life.
Stating that peace has enormous power, she said that nothing can be achieved in an atmosphere where peace and harmony does not exist.
Pointing out that the necessity for re-establishing virtuous life is more relevant now, Dadi Jankiji said that it was this aspect that the society needed proper guidance from Seers and Saints of the land and added that in this background, this programme carries a special meaning.
Swami Athmajnanandaji, President of Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama, Mysuru, in his address, explained the importance of sacrifice, penance and service.
Stating that the conference portrayed India’s rich heritage and cultural traditions, he said that religious values were supreme for human life.
Regretting that the tendency to follow western culture had shaken our values, Swami Athmajnanandaji underlined the need for not allowing this tendency to creep into our everyday life.
Pointing out that India is a multi-cultural country, he stressed on the need to shun differences, caste discrimination and other evils that is plaguing our society.
Explaining the significance of ‘Vasudaiva Kutumbakam,’ Swami Athmajnanandaji said that spirituality is key for leading a peaceful and virtuous life.
A huge cake was cut to mark the 102nd birthday of Dadi Jankiji.
Hosamutt Seer Sri Chidananda Swamiji, Jankiji’s Personal Assistant Hamsa Behen, B.K. Lakshmiji, B.K. Ashaji and others were present.
