Mysuru: The Vidyaranyapuram Police have cracked the murder case of 29-year-old Sunitha reported on Tuesday last (June 13) at JP Nagar in city by arresting her ex-husband Karthik, 32 and his accomplice Seena alias Bengaluru Seena from Lakkavalli near Tarikere in Chikkamagaluru district last night.
Police said that the duo was picked up from a dilapidated house where they were hiding since yesterday.
It is said, both Karthik and Seena, after committing the heinous crime, had fled to Bengaluru and then to Velankanni in Tamil Nadu and before arriving at Chikkamagaluru.
Karthik, who had divorced Sunitha some time ago, visited her residence on June 13 and both together dropped their son to the school and returned.
Later, they are said to have picked up a quarrel which turned violent. At this time, Seena, who was waiting nearby, rushed to the house after getting the signal and joined Karthik in slitting Sunitha’s throat and later escaped from the spot, Police said.
Vidyaranyapuram Police Inspector Omkarappa and his special team were tracking the duo’s movements and based on a tip-off, the team arrested the accused yesterday at around 11 pm when they were inebriated and sleeping.
The Police, who are interrogating the duo, are expected to produce them before the Court this afternoon. Police also informed that Seena was facing charges in an assault case registered at Kamakshipalya Police Station in Bengaluru.
