H.D. Kote: A Panchayat Development Officer (PDO), Surveyor and a Computer Operator fell in the trap of Lokayukta Police personnel on the charges of receiving bribe to issue e-swathu to a villager.
The accused are identified as M.C. Tolalu Grama Panchayat PDO Shilpa, Surveyor Balaji and Computer Operator Shivalinga Prasad.
Lingaraju of Channagundi village in the taluk had applied for e-swathu for his site for which the PDO and the two others had allegedly demanded Rs. 10,000 to issue the document.
Fed up with the demand for bribe, Lingaraju lodged a complaint with Lokayukta Police.
On Monday, Lingaraju gave Rs. 8,000 bribe to PDO and Rs. 2,000 to the Surveyor, following which Lokayukta Police raided the Panchayat Office and caught them red handed.
All the three were questioned at KEB Office, H.D. Kote.
Lokayukta SP Sachith and Dy.SP P.V. Krishnaiah guided Inspectors Roopashree and Jayarathna and staff Umesh, Guruprasad, Gopi, Nethravathi, Triveni, Kantharaj, Prakash, Mohan Gowda, Shekar, Mohan and Lokesh in the case.
