Brothers bag medals in Karate

Mysore/Mysuru: Thirteen-year-old K.K. Mahin Muthanna (Black Belt) and his brother nine-year-old K.K. Naren Nanjappa (Black Belt) have excelled in the 22nd Shorin Kai National Karate Championship 2023 held recently at University Gymnastics Hall, Mysore University Sports Pavilion in city.

While Mahin won first prize in Individual Kata and Kumite events, Naren bagged third prize in Individual Kata and Kumite events.

Students of St. Joseph’s Central School, Yelwal, they are practicing Okinawa Karate-Do Shorinryu Shorin Kai under Kyoshi S. Sunil Kumar.

Mahin and Naren are the sons of Lt. Cdr. Kodapalu Kishan, a Short-Service Commissioned Officer of the Indian Navy and Dr. B.E. Dhanya, Project Coordinator, DST STUTI Programme, JSS AHER, Mysuru, residing in Bogadi, Mysuru.
