Mysuru: BSNL contract employees under the banner of Karnataka State BSNL Non Permanent Employees Association and supported by CITU staged a protest in front of BSNL General Manager’s office in Jayalakshmipuram here yesterday urging for fulfilment of their various demands.
The protestors alleged that contract employees, working in Mysuru ad Chamarajanagar districts were not being paid salaries on time by some contractors besides not being provided with salary slips and ID cards.
They further alleged that since Jan. 2017, some contractors were deducting Rs. 500 from their salaries and demanded distribution of the deducted amount among the contract employees.
This apart, the agitators said that despite them doing overtime on holidays, they were denied OT pay besides alleging that they are not provided safety equipments to work.
CITU Mysuru District Committee President N.K. Balaji Rao, Association President M. Mahadevappa, Vice-President K.M. Babu, General Secretary Ramalingu and others took part in the protest.
