Budding engineers create awareness on Child Abuse

Mysuru: ‘SHIKSHAA,’ an awareness programme was carried out by the members of MAGNA Club of Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering (VVCE), Mysuru, in various schools  that was mainly aimed at spreading awareness about child abuse. The motive was to educate school children about the differences between a good touch and a bad touch, how they need to tackle such situations, whom to approach during such times, the importance of having a safe circle, and to demonstrate some easy self-defense techniques using which children can protect themselves. A team of 110 dedicated volunteers visited 17 schools in Mysuru and managed to educate an approximate of 5,013 school children in a span of three weeks.

The members of SHIKSHAA received appreciation from renowned schools like Kendriya Vidyalaya, CFTRI School and even from NGOs like Kalisu Foundation. This awareness programme aimed to make the community free of such heinous child crimes.

They plan to cover more schools in the coming days during the second drive. Like-minded volunteers ready to work with them in this drive and any contribution from anybody in the form of donations, sponsorships etc., can be made towards the organisation.
