Mysore/Mysuru: In yet another operation for reclaiming encroached Government land, the District Authorities on Thursday razed an unauthorised  building which had come up on a Government land in the taluk.

Upon coming to know that an unauthorised commercial building had come up on Government land coming under Survey Nos.54 to 57 and located on Gaddige Main road  in Yelwal Hobli of the taluk, a team of officials led by Mysuru taluk Tahsildar Mahesh Kumar, in an early morning operation on Thursday, razed down the building using JCB machines and other equipment and reclaimed the land.

The commercial building was said to have 10 shops and the value of the land is estimated at about Rs.3 crore. Even as the demolition was in progress, some persons who arrived at the spot, tried to stop the demolition by arguing in favour of the person who had constructed the building.

However, the officials silenced them by producing the documents and the demolition went ahead smoothly, it is learnt.

Yelwal Deputy Tahsildar Kuber, Revenue Inspector Shivakumar, Village Administrative Officer Bharateesh, Bogadi Town Panchayat Administrative Officer Basavaraj, Revenue Inspector Vijayakumar and PWD staff were present during the operation.
