More than 300 from District to attend
Mysore/Mysuru: Karnataka Construction and other Unorganised Workers Association (Karnataka Karmika Sangha) is organising a conference of workers at Kunigal in Tumakuru district on Oct.30 to draw Government’s attention towards the problems that are being faced by the workers. More than 300 workers from Mysuru district are attending the conference of building construction and other unorganised sector workers being held at Kunigal’s GKBMS School Open Air Theatre, said District President of Construction Workers Association L. Krishna.
“The Conference is being held to draw Government’s attention to the various problems being faced by the workers like inflation, expensive raw materials, dual policies of Labour Department, collection of exorbitant fees of Rs.500 to Rs. 1,000 at Common Services Centres (CSCs) to register workers’ and also to urge the Government to provide various facilities announced by it without much delay. Many construction workers, auto drivers, street vendors and other workers are participating in the proposed conference,” added Krishna.
