Mysuru: The CCB Police, who arrested a burglar, have recovered 44gm of stolen gold jewellery worth Rs.1.7 lakh from him. Naushat, 35, a resident of Farm Colony in Ghousianagar of the city, is the one who is arrested.
Acting on a tip off, the CCB sleuths rounded up Naushat when he was trying to sell jewellery near a textile shop close to the Zoo in Ittigegud on Aug.29.
During interrogation, Naushat confessed to have burgled a house in Gayatripuram a year ago, following which 44gm gold jewellery allegedly stolen by him was recovered.
The nabbing and seizure operation was carried out by CCB Inspector C. Kiran Kumar, SI Chandregowda, staff Ramaswamy, M.R. Ganesh, C. Chikkanna, C.N. Shivaraju, Yakub Shariff, Asgar Khan, Chandrashekar, Niranjan, Rajendra and Chamundamma, led ACP C. Gopal, under the guidance of DCP M. Muthuraj.
