In the wake of losses due to diesel price hike, demonetisation, wage revision etc., the State Government is mulling a hike in bus fares. The State Transport Corporations have made a representation to the Government seeking a fare hike to offset losses, according to Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy. He said that the Government will take a stand on fare hike after consulting CM Siddharamaiah.
Referring to the indefinite stir launched by Truckers, the Minister said that he held talks with lorry owners. Maintaining that the State Government on its part has fulfilled the demands coming under the State, Reddy said that it is the responsibility of the Union Government to fulfil the rest of the demands.
